thnx for posting this video..an important message..awareness can help begin healing and bring hope to those who need it most..those born with a lesser advantage than a lot of others in the world. they need us, we all need each other.

we all have to help, we cant just act like there is gonna be someone else who will do it, because if everyone did that, nothing will happen nor change

No sarcasm was ever intended. The catharsis for what you are doing is the same as that of a group of people who lived through a genocide standing up at a reconciliation council to point out the perpetrators. It is horrible to talk about what happened, but when you take actions that lead to justice, it is also cathartic. There is an easing of pain and misery that comes from facing down evil. As for me, I am preparing to enter the Foreign Service so that I can help create better policies.

Uneccesarily sarcastic. It is for sure not cathartic re-living the horror as you work on trying to capture it…and anything that marks the event can only be good. What do YOU DO then ??? Just mock ? Don’t bother to answer. I not interested.

  5. grapatin says:

Good luck. I hope it proves to be as beneficial to her as it was cathartic for you.

I am working on a tryptic at the moment, a painting…called RAPED. JUSDGED. STONED. It is a very painful work to do in memory of the poor Somali 13 year old girl who was stoned to death some weeks back. I only hope I do it well enough.

If the current rulers/warlords/chieftains were disposed of, do you not know that others would rise to fill their places? Many of them have a hold on power that is tenuous at best. The system that let them come to power, that allowed the longest civil wars, that keeps women under the boots of their men predates any current government or ideology. Even in Afghanistan, women used to be able to work as doctors, teachers, and librarians, etc., but only with their husband’s or father’s permission.

  8. xyzllii says:

OK…but she would not NEED MY AID if her own Rulers,,,Warlords/Chieftans/Whatever.. were disposed . That is MY point. Shaft them out of it …and let women and their off-spring…BREATHE. And SPEAK their wisdom.
But thank you for replying to me…good dialoque is…good 11

Xyzlli, giving to this charity will not aid and abet tyrants–Women for Women helps women find their own power, learn about the rights to which they are entitled, and gives them the tools to fight poverty, oppression, and tyranny. The money is signed out to the woman being sponsored. She must pick it up in person, show her ID, and sign it out (with a mark if she is illiterate). The money goes to her and stays with her–the program is designed so that the money is always in her control.

To me, this is a worthwhile cause becaise it empowers women to get back on their feet and gain direction and independance

  11. eviekeen says:

The way to help women gain independance from tyrants is through Providing education and small business loans. Not only does this help her and her children, but the whole community.Xyzllii I don’t understand your backward reasoning at all.

Whilst a part of me feels it is great that women support each other in this way, I would hold back from contributing , because until women gain more positions of power in the running of world in a real way, we are only aiding and abetting tyrants and atrocity by giving charity.
We women must learn to take power into our own hands, and I will support any moves in that direction.
