It would be great if you could attend the prayers during Ramadan because you will most likely find a lot of Muslim women there that you can speak to. There are 10 days left in the month of Ramadan, and there should be a lot of people attending the mosques for prayers and breaking of the fast. Which area do you live in? Also, don't worry if your friends don't understand right now. You are welcome to keep talking to them and be friends, just like normal. :) If you can't answer their questions about Islam, it'll just take time for you to learn yourself before you become comfortable answering other people (don't worry, it's normal.) :) Most importantly, just pray to Allah whenever you need help and are feeling lost about something - He'll definitely help you find a way. :) I would look up different masajid (mosques) in London that are nearby where you live.
